Home Book - Collage, Beeswax & Quotes . . .

This little book was created in a class with Mary Jo McGraw at the Frenzy Stamper in Scottsdale, AZ. It is also on You Tube here. It is way easier to create a slide show video than a real video - at least for me.

This is my first video attempt to post on YouTube

and now I am really in awe of the cool, fun videos on YouTube. If you haven't seen SuziBluTube's go here - I particularly love this one and will definitely be getting a tutu - do you have a tutu? The next video will be linked on my other blog and will be a little tutorial on doll noses! Off to set up my movie studio!

Some journal pages from the past . . .

and a numbers mail swap from 12/06

This journal page is done using the
D'Blogala Art Journal Friday prompt.

I find it difficult to combine meaning & art on my journal pages. Adding more than a few words or a quote is hard for me. Once I start focusing on the words and meaning then the art seems to get lost. How about you?

set me free . . . a new page started!

Ready for some journaling . . .

the very hardest part for me! I am working on a page about my mom for D'Blogala's "Art Journal Fridays" prompt - it should be ready to post tomorrow. I hope you will come back to see it.

Thank you Dawn, Lu and Jazz for your encouraging comments - delicious feedback - a treat even better than an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie!

Progression . . .

. . . same page, not done yet . . . but moving in a direction much more me! It was a fun exercise and I learned several things from the experiment.

Food for thought when looking at artwork: What is hiding below the surface? Layering? Makes me wonder - how about you?

Thank you Kelly Rae, Lisa and Maija for your kind comments - you really know how to make a girl feel good!

Paint and Collage
In the new issue of Cloth, Paper Scissors Magazine, Kelly Rae (an awesome artist and a very nice young lady) shares her collage/painting technique in a great article . . . this is step one that I am going to try in my journal.

Also in this issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors, the artist profile is of Judy Wise - I love her artwork and she is as nice as she is talented! She has a great tutorial for making a journal from used grocery bags - go to this post on her blog to see that. There will definitely be a grocery bag journal in my future!

and some more journal page background painting. . . . now if I can just get over this annoying cold I will be ready to do a little creating. It is so dragging me down . . . . scratchy throat, drippy nose, headache - eewwwwww!
